The 24-hour clock

live
A draggable clock for learning how 24-hour time maps onto the 12-hour face — drag the hands, watch the sky shift from night to day, and test yourself in quiz mode.

A little learning toy for the jump between the 12-hour clock we read and the 24-hour clock we write. The inner ring is hours 1–12, the outer ring is 13–24, and the outer minute marks count in fives. Drag either hand and the sky behind the face slides from night through day to match the time.

How to play: grab a hand and drag it around the face, tap AM / PM to flip between morning and afternoon, and dial the difficulty up to hide the helper numbers. Hit Quiz me to be given a time to set yourself. There's also a full-screen version made for kids.
